Cornus sanguinea, or Common Dogwood, is a deciduous shrub found in many parts of Europe, North Africa and West Asia. It is a fast-growing species with bright green leaves and clusters of small white flowers, which turn to white or pink berries in autumn. The branches and twigs are strong and stiff, making it a great choice for hedging and topiary.
